Charge of Cheating by Fraudulent Act

Charge

Cheating by Fraudulent Act under the Casino Control Act

Background

Our client was playing roulette in the casino. After a winning hand money was paid out whereby our client accidentally took chips that belonged to another gambler.

Process

Our instructions were to plead not guilty as this was an honest and reasonable mistake. Numerous discussions and lengthy submissions with Police Prosecutions finally led to common sense prevailing after viewing CCTV footage.

Outcome

Prosecutions dropped the case on the day of hearing with no evidence to offer.
